What we collect

When you submit a form, we collect what you enter: your name, email, phone number if you give one, and your message or saved search. We record which consent box you checked and the version of its wording.

Site analytics

RoofZoo uses cookieless, first-party analytics. We do not set analytics cookies. We do not store your IP address or browser user agent. We count page events using a daily random value that is deleted after one day.

When you arrive from a link that carries campaign parameters (for example utm_source or utm_content, such as a link in one of our social videos), we record those parameters with page events and with any form you submit, so we can tell which post brought you here. We keep them in your browser only for the current tab session (not in a cookie), and we drop values that look like an email address or phone number.

Your activity when you are signed in

If you are signed in with a verified email that matches a request you sent us, we record which homes you view, the homes you save, the optional "where are you in your search" buttons you tap, when you visit, and the cities and price range of the homes you look at. We use this to sort and prioritize your request, and we share it with the licensed agent who accepts your request so they know what you are looking for. If you are not signed in, or your email is not verified, we do not record this; the buttons are kept on your device only, unless you send us a request with the consent box checked; then the buttons you tapped during that visit are added to your request. If you come back after 30 days or more, our team may get an internal notice so someone can help. You can ask us to delete this activity at privacy@roofzoo.com.

Ask RoofZoo chats you attach to a request

Your Ask RoofZoo chat stays in your browser tab and is not tied to you. If you send a request and check both the consent box and the optional box to attach your chat, we save the questions and answers from that chat visit (up to the last 10) with your request, so the agent helping you can see what you asked. We do not save chats you do not attach, and we do not use them for advertising. To have an attached chat removed, email support@roofzoo.com.

Email alerts

If you sign up for listing alerts, we email you about homes that match your saved search. Every alert email has an unsubscribe link.

Text messages (SMS)

Texts are opt-in only. You agree by checking an unchecked consent box on a RoofZoo form.
Consent to texts is not a condition of any purchase or service.
Message frequency varies.
Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for help.
Texts are sent only between 8 AM and 8 PM in the recipient's local time.
Mobile numbers and text opt-in data are never sold.
A STOP reply to us or to your partner agent stops texts from both.

Who sees your information

Your request goes to Hansen Sales Inc and its licensed agents. If we connect you with a licensed RoofZoo Partner Agent, your request and contact details go to that agent too, and they may contact you as your consent allows.

Advertising pixels and tags

roofzoo.com uses the Meta Pixel and the Google Ads tag. These tools let Meta and Google see that your browser or device visited roofzoo.com, which pages you viewed, and actions such as submitting a form. They use cookies or similar technology and may collect your IP address, browser and device information, and an advertising ID. Meta and Google may combine this with what they already know about you to show you RoofZoo ads on other sites and apps and to measure how our ads perform.

Under California law, giving Meta and Google this information for ads based on your activity across different sites and apps is "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell your personal information for money. Some of this activity may also be treated as a "sale" under California law, so we treat our opt-out as an opt-out of both.

We do not load these pixels or tags until we have checked whether you have opted out or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. We do not load them on our home value, affordability or cost to sell tools, on account pages, or on pages with forms, and we do not send them your name, email, phone number, or the financial numbers you enter.

Categories of personal information we collect, sources and who receives it

Identifiers. Name, email, phone number, account ID, IP address, cookie and advertising IDs. Sources: you, your device, and Meta when you submit a RoofZoo lead form on Facebook or Instagram. Disclosed to Hansen Sales Inc and its licensed agents, the licensed RoofZoo Partner Agent we connect you with, and our service providers. Cookie and advertising IDs and IP address are shared with Meta and Google for advertising.

Internet or other electronic network activity. Pages and listings you view, searches, saved homes, the ad or link that brought you here, and return visits. Sources: you and your device. Disclosed to our service providers and, when you ask to be connected, the licensed agent helping you. Page views and on-site actions are shared with Meta and Google for advertising.

Inferences. A short summary of what you are looking for, such as area, price range and timing. Source: our own analysis of the information above. Disclosed to the licensed agent helping you. Meta and Google may draw their own inferences from what their pixels and tags collect.

Communications and form answers. Messages, form answers and the consent choices you make. Source: you. Disclosed to Hansen Sales Inc, its licensed agents, the licensed RoofZoo Partner Agent we connect you with, and our service providers. Not sold or shared.

We do not seek or keep sensitive personal information and do not use it to infer characteristics about you, so we do not offer a "Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information" link.

Meta lead forms

If you submit a RoofZoo lead form on Facebook or Instagram, Meta sends us what you entered (such as your name, email, phone number and answers) and your consent choices. We handle it the same way as a form on roofzoo.com. Meta's own privacy policy covers what Meta collects on its platforms.

Sold or shared in the past 12 months

In the past 12 months we have shared, for cross-context behavioral advertising, these categories: identifiers (cookie and advertising IDs and IP address) and internet or other electronic network activity. The recipients are Meta Platforms, Inc. and Google LLC as third parties. We have not sold personal information for money. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.

How long we keep it

Advertising cookies and IDs set by Meta and Google last as long as Meta and Google set them to; you can clear them at any time in your browser. We delete the pixel and tag settings we control when you opt out. Site activity we keep: 24 months after your last visit. Form submissions, messages, consent and opt-out records: 5 years after your last contact. Then we delete or de-identify it.

Your right to opt out of sale or sharing: Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

You have the right to tell us not to sell or share your personal information. To opt out:

Use the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link at the bottom of every page. It turns off the Meta Pixel and Google Ads tag for your browser right away and lets you add your email so we can apply it to your account and lead records.
Turn on Global Privacy Control (GPC) in a browser or extension that supports it. We treat a GPC signal as a valid request to opt out of sale and sharing for that browser and any profile we link to it, and for you if we know who you are. We will not show you a pop up because of it.

You do not need an account to opt out. We stop selling or sharing your information as soon as we can, and no later than 15 business days after we receive your request, and we tell Meta and Google of your request. We will wait at least 12 months before asking you to opt back in. You will not be treated differently for opting out.

Your other rights

You can ask to know, delete or correct the personal information we have about you by emailing privacy@roofzoo.com. We will verify your request before acting on it. You may use an authorized agent.

We review this policy at least once a year and update the date above when we change it.
